Case Study: Mr Y – Finding Comfort and Stability
Mr Y, an immigrant with no recourse to public funds, faced severe challenges keeping his home warm during the harsh winter months. With a young family and no access to state support, he struggled to afford heating, making his home cold and unsafe.
Through the Resilient Informed Black Community Project, Mr Y received energy-saving tips and thermal blankets, significantly improving his living conditions and ensuring his family’s comfort.
“Before the support, I would keep my children bundled up all day just to keep warm. I didn’t realise how much of a difference having proper heating could make. Now, we’re all comfortable, and I can focus on looking after my family instead of worrying about the cold.” – Mr Y
Our journey to empower Black communities does not stop here. With Cadent’s support, we continue to provide culturally relevant resources and education to address energy, safety, and health challenges. We remain committed to supporting individuals and families, ensuring they have the knowledge and tools to make informed decisions for their wellbeing.
